Well!... Where to start!?

I must apologise for not updating my blog for so long! Like for all of us, 2021 has been quite the year full of change, challenges and differences so it has been quite a task to keep on top of everything!

I am writing this as I sit in my new home with a cup of tea looking out of the window and I must say I am feeling incredibly grateful. This year has brought me a lot of changes but all of them have been exciting and very positive.

The main news to share if you did not know is from September, I accepted a full time role as classical ballet tutor for the upper school at Elmhurst Ballet School - in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. This is not only an incredible opportunity itself, but is so very special as this is where I trained as a dancer so it really is a full circle and feels a real honour to be back and helping to shape the next generation of dancers.

My own class at Pineapple Dance Studios is thriving with a great regular group of followers mixed with lovely new faces each week. Matt Gregory, the insanely talented pianist is our resident accompanist and makes every Saturday a real joy and I alongside all the participants are so grateful to have him with us. The class is general level and we have dancers who are starting out their journey in ballet combined with full time students and professionals. There is a very positive, community feel and you are more than welcome to join us!

On a personal side, my father was incredibly ill during the middle of 2021 and had to undergo major heart surgery. It was an incredibly scary and difficult time for us as a family but I am very happy to say that he has come through and is recovering very well. I must thank you all for the love and support you gave my family and I during that very challenging time.

2021 has been quite the year and one like I have never experienced before. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to all of us, yet we have fought back and tried our upmost best to keep going. I would like to extend all of my gratitude to each and everyone of you who have supported me during this time, whether it be joining a class of mine, sharing my work, a simple call or text or a walk around the park. I am incredibly grateful and will not forget the generosity and support you have shown me this past year!

I wish you all a very enjoyable festive period and a prosperous new year!

Love
