Joshua trained at Northern Ballet’s Academy from 14 years old, at 16 he started training at Elmhurst - School of the Birmingham Royal Ballet where he toured with the company throughout his graduate year. Upon graduating in 2010 Joshua moved back to Leeds to join Northern Ballet where he performed extensively throughout the UK and across Europe dancing in many productions by David Nixon including; The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Cleopatra, Beauty and the Beast, Hamlet, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, The Great Gatsby and I got Rhythm. He also was part of the creative process of Kenneth Tindall’s ‘The Ultimate Form.’
In 2013 Joshua moved to London to perform a guest contract with New English Ballet Theatre for a gala at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Dancing in works by Valentino Zuccetti (Royal Ballet), Andrew McNicol and Erico Montes (Royal Ballet).
Joshua then joined Rambert in 2014, where he was part of many creations and re-stagings working with many choreographers including Mark Baldwin, Merce Cunningham, Didy Veldman, Christopher Bruce, Shobana Jeyasingh, Kim Brandstrup, Andonis Foniadakis and Sharon Eyal.
In 2019 Joshua joined Company Wayne McGregor where he performed in works - Autobiography, Living Archive, Outlier, and Orpheus and Eurydice with the English National Opera. He toured globally throughout 2019, some highlights being, performing at the Bolshoi Theatre, creating and working with Wayne in the studio and dancing the central duet in ‘Outlier’ alongside Alessandra Ferri.
Joshua is a freelance dance artist and is always interested in new projects, creations and collaborations.
